Meet The Hat Guys
The Hat Guys have been entertaining audiences in Chicago since 2003, bringing to the Chicago cover band scene a taste of the soulful exuberance, pagentry
and revelry of a New Orleans Mardi Gras parade. This band of
working professionals started out with the simple goal of
keeping music in their lives, playing about 35-40 shows per
year. Chicago audiences quickly embraced the band's
irrepressible fervor and distinctive style and, to satisfy the
demand, The Hat Guys have been playing more than 70 shows per
year since 2005. That is about the most we can handle given the substantial demands of our personal and professional lives.
Three things set The Hat Guys apart from all cover bands in the area:
|
| Feel |
Our music and sound have a unique "Feel". We cover all of the standard songs, but add to them a distinctive groove and feel. Our sound emanates from our
heartfelt belief that life's moments are to be celebrated robustly and that musical entertainment is not a passive activity. Our motto has always been "Dance ... even if you don't look cool".
|
| Live |
Our music is LIVE, real and in the moment. We don't sample voices or musical parts or play to click-tracks. Our music is open and improvisational, like a jam band, and it allows us to interact with our audiences without missing a beat. Simply stated, we play LIVE music, as it was intended to be played.
|
|
Rock |
The Hat Guys "leave it on the floor". We were born out of the spirit that animates the musical and parading traditions of New Orleans. Whether we have a crowd of 200 or 2,000, we perform with exactly the same level of energy, engagement and ebullience. Quite simply, it matters to us that you have the time of your life.
|
Despite rather modest ambitions, The Hat Guys
have grown rapidly to become one of the most popular cover bands in the Chicago area. We want to thank all of our friends,
families and fans for your encouragement and support of The Hat Guy Revolution!
